Eight months ago, I never imagined house sitting would become such a natural extension of my lifestyle and values. At the time, it was a decision born out of necessity—an in-between space during a busy season of client work and shifting priorities. But something unexpected happened: I fell in love with it.
As I moved from house to house, I realised this wasn’t just a temporary solution—it was a doorway into learning, living differently, and expanding how I understand home, energy, and comfort.

I’m someone who only trusts knowledge that’s lived. I need to taste it, walk through it, and feel it in my body. I’ve never fully trusted information that wasn’t grounded in experience. And house sitting—unexpectedly—has become a fast-track to the kind of knowledge I crave.
Whether it’s understanding solar batteries during a stormy week, discovering how different stone or clay buildings retain warmth (or don’t), or experiencing first-hand how permaculture systems support (or fail) during drought… this lifestyle keeps feeding my curiosity.
